Needs an upgrade BADLY on the outside! And on the inside needs more stores to come in to increase business and foot traffic. Since Gottschalks, the terrace cafe, the DMV, Wig n out , the Gap, Aeropostle and now Sports authority have bit the dust, VRC really needs to pick up the slack on getting more business into the mall (even if they have to bring include stores popular in other regions of the country to do it. Heck! I would be open to having a Dillard's in the space where Gottschalks used to be as long as the space gets used again.)

This place is pretty great. I grew up in a small town with no mall so this is huge to me. VRC has a HUGE theater in it, cool shops, and an okay food court. The stores are pretty much what you expect but some surprises here and there. There is also great restaurants in the area and a beautiful river near by. I would recommend checking this place out!

It's the same mall I remember from when I lived in Eugene 10 years ago. And that's not a good thing.
Could be worse though. Could be Gateway. - Heather K.Eugene, OR2356/9/2019
I love a good mall stroll! I come here on my days off . I go on and do some bra fittings, eat a little sandwich, perhaps enjoy an ice cream sundae (don't tell my weight watchers lol lol ) . I also love to look at the tv's. I've always wanted one of those curved tv's that you can watch 3D movies on. Are the 3D sunglasses sold separately? Honestly if you buy a 3D tv it saves you money in the long run if you enjoy watching 3D at the movie theaters . Black Friday shoppers watch out im coming for that deal !!! ;))) hahaah no but seriously it's a great mall for you and your gal friends !! I have to leave my credit card at home haha

Free RV parking! (Up to 2 nights). Just talk to security and ask for the permit. Awesome park by the river can be accessed through the parking lot.

Valley River Center is really a run of the mill mall, very typical of what you can find in a medium sized american town like Eugene. I mostly come here to go to the movies but often I buy my tickets a bit before the show time so will wander around the mall a bit. I wish the food court was better.

Valley river has some decent stores although a few of my favorites have gone away. It's a nice environment to bring the family. There's a kids play area and some "ride-on" machines. They have a good Santa in the winter but whatever company they hired changed the breakfast with Santa event to no longer include a photo with Santa. You have to buy a whole package and it's over priced. They also do Easter bunny pics, kids club and other events. Overall it's a B mall

This place ain't too bad yo. Walked up in here ready to find an outfit. Did just that, came out fresh as f*%#. People here seem friendly as can be. Girl in zumiez was so fly. Like had me and my bro mesmerized. I left my soul at the counter checking out.

Stayed overnight in a travel trailer, in the parking lot out the back. Security will issue you an overnight pass (maximum 2 nights) and they'll keep an eye on your vehicle/trailer during the night! Awesome. Obviously no dumping, water or power hook-ups but for a cheap (free!) place to stay that's next to food and stores, this is good for a night.
Also there's a river by the parking lot and you can walk/jog/cycle along the path. Quite pleasant.
Warning: trains make a lot of noise during the day and night, and they sound very close to this parking lot. Not sure why trains need to blare their horns for 5 minutes at a time, it's like they're having a railroad family reunion... But that's my one and only complaint about staying here. - Elena B.Sweet Home, OR0111/25/2016
Generally, I like this mall but the Santa company hired is mercenary. They refused to let me video my child's visit. Why can't this mall hire a Santa just for kids and family enjoyment and documentation without needing to make money.
