Ursula St Barbe was the daughter of Henry St Barbe and Eleanor Lewknor.[1] and his wife, Elinor Lewknor.[2]

She married Richard Worsley of Appuldurcombe on the Isle of Wight,[2] son of James Worsley and his wife, Anne Leigh.[1] Richard died on 12 May 1565 leaving her with two infant sons and the Manor of Appuldurcombe during her widowhood. [3]

In 1566 she married Francis Walsingham [2] [1]whom she bore two daughters.[4] Meanwhile John and George, her sons by Richard, remained at Appuldurcombe. They were killed in an explosion at the gatehouse on 6 September 1567.[5][3]

Sir Francis died, heavily in debt, at his town house in Seething Lane on 6 April 1590 having made Ursula his executor.[4] She was to remain a widow for more than 10 years dying at home at Barn Elms on 18 Jun 1602. She was buried on the 19th at St Paul's Cathedral. [6]

She passed away in 1602.
