Welcome to your New York City home.

Residential life at MMC means much more than having a place to study and sleep. It’s where you’ll cook family-style dinners with your new best friends. Where you’ll burst into laughter with roommates during late-night study session-induced delirium. Where you’ll lounge around watching Netflix at the end of a long day. Above all, it’s where you’ll find community, a sense of belonging, and a place to call your own.

Our Residence Halls

Get a taste of the big city life! Our residence halls are nestled in the middle of some of New York’s most exciting neighborhoods. Community and convenience will be right outside your door, while the comforts of home will be waiting for you after a long day.

55th Street Residence Hall

Located in Midtown Manhattan, 55th Street — or simply “55th” as it’s known around campus—is home to more than 500 residents. First-year students, some transfer students, and a limited number of continuing students live at 55th in two-bedroom apartments. Two to four students live in each bedroom, which comes fully furnished with regular-length twin beds, desks, wardrobe/closets, and dressers, designed to maximize your living space. Each apartment has its own kitchenette and bathroom, with a second half-bath and additional vanity in some of the larger apartments.

55th Street is a brisk 16-block walk to campus or a quick bus ride. And with 55th Street just steps away from multiple subway lines, you’ll have easy access to the whole city.

COVID-19 Housing Information

From the start of the pandemic, the Office of Residence Life has taken the health and safety of on-campus residents as its highest priority. We have reduced the density of the residence halls for the 2020-2021 academic year, developed and implemented numerous safety and security measures, and and put forth the Keep MMC Pledge for all members of the community.
