Superman & Lois has officially wrapped production for the last time. Elizabeth Tulloch, who portrays Lois Lane in the fan-favorite DC series, announced the end of filming by sharing a heartfelt message from the show's creators and producers.

On April 23, Tulloch posted on the social media platform X a screenshot of her final call sheet for Superman & Lois with the caption, "Last Day." Production on the series finale began a week earlier and was also announced by Tulloch, who posted on Instagram the title page of the episode's script, revealing that the series finale will be appropriately titled "It Went By So Fast." Gregory Smith directed the finale from a script written by Brent Fletcher and Todd Helbing, the latter of whom co-created the series with Greg Berlanti.

Tulloch also shared the heartfelt message from Smith, Fletcher, Helbing, Melissa Crich, Ian Samoil, and Lisa Lewis that was printed at the bottom of her final call sheet and read as follows: "To the best cast and crew in television. Thank you for four seasons of tireless dedication, endless enthusiasm and your massive talent in making Superman and Lois one of the best adaptations in the Superman mythology."

One Last Season for Superman & Lois

A fourth season of Superman & Lois was officially announced in June 2023, with The CW confirming that November that it would be the show's last. The final season is set to consist of 10 episodes, down three from Season 3 and five from Seasons 1 and 2. While plot details remain under wraps for the fourth and final season, Tulloch teased in February 2024 that fans should expect multiple deaths across the last 10 episodes: "There are deaths involved. It’s very epic. We’re going out with a bang. In the end, there are actually very, very high stakes."

What's Next for the Man of Steel?

For the first time in a long time, there are multiple live-action and animated projects featuring the Big Blue Boy Scout in development at DC Studios. Besides the final season of Superman & Lois, fans can look forward to the second season of the animated series My Adventures with Superman, which recently debuted its first clip, as well as the Man of Steel's return to the big screen in James Gunn's upcoming DC Universe reboot film, Superman.

David Corenswet will succeed Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh, and Henry Cavill as the next big screen incarnation of Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman, with the actor also set to portray the superhero in future DCU films. Production on Legacy is currently set to continue until the end of July.

Superman & Lois' fourth and final season is set to premiere on The CW in Fall 2024.
