Tyla Abercrumbie and Diany Rodriguez comes onboard for NCIS: Origins prequel

Tyla Abercrumbie from The Chi and Diany Rodriguez from The Blacklist has rounded out the series regular cast of NCIS: Origins, which is a prequel series to the vulnerable procedural and has a straight to series order for 2024-25 broadcast season.

They have joined the previously announced cast members  Austin Stowell, Kyle Schmid, and Mariel Molino.

The series Origins, executive produced and narrated by Mark Harmon, begins in 1991, years before the events of NCIS and the chronicles Leroy Gibbs’, played by Austin, younger years. The show focuses on Gibbs starting his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NIS Camp Pendleton Office, where he makes his spot on the ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks, played by Kyle.

Tyla will be played the role of Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo, who is both a product of her time and the lifeblood of the Camp Pendleton office. Meanwhile, Diany will play the character Special Agent Vera Strickland, who is a sharp witted Brooklynite who’s tough as a nail and never minces her words.
