Ty Burrell ( Full name: Tyler Gerald Burrell) is an American comedian and actor. He is best known for his role on the ABC sitcom Modern Family appearing as Phil Dunphy. The role that won Ty the Primetime Emmy Award (from eight consecutive nominations) in a Comedy Series in 2011 and 2014 for Outstanding Supporting Actor. The same role won him an Outstanding Performance shared with the cast from 2011 to 2014 by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Also, Ty has had a number of roles in Broadway shows e.g Macbeth and off-Broadway plays such as Burn This. Apart from that, Ty had a starring role on the tv series Back to You and Out of Practice.
