Trinity College Bristol - Evangelical, Anglican theological college in the vibrant city of Bristol

Live like the
Kingdom is near

Welcome to Trinity College Bristol! We are an evangelical, Anglican theological college in the vibrant city of Bristol, training men and women for Christian leadership and ordination and teaching theology from certificate level up to PhD.

Our vision is for kingdom living, kingdom learning and kingdom leading. Our task is shaping leaders of Christ-like character in community for a missional church. Our commitment is to kingdom values.

Whether studying here in Bristol or via our dispersed (distance) learning pathway, as an ordinand or independently, full- or part-time, our passion is for our students to embrace the call to live like the Kingdom is near.

Studying at Trinity

We want to help you to find the type of study that works best for you. If you have any questions or are just unsure about what’s right for you, we’re always here to talk it through. We also offer prayer to all those who apply to us.

At Trinity we train men and women for ordination in the Church of England. You can train as a gathered (Bristol-based) or dispersed (hybrid) learner, and you can choose between full- and part-time training. However you choose to study, you will be based – and immersed – in a context church throughout your studies.

We don’t just train people for ordination; we also have a substantial number of independent students who are studying theology for a wide variety of reasons and educational goals. At Trinity we offer a first class theological study programme, taught in an accessible way, to students who are not training for ordination.

We will help you to work out which is the right programme for you, according to your education, experience and goals. From Certificate through to MA, we have programmes that will work with whatever level of study you have reached and will support you in your studies.

If you are interested in postgraduate research, Trinity has a flourishing postgrad programme accredited by the University of Aberdeen. You can pursue a postgraduate degree full-time, part-time, in residence in Bristol or at a distance (we have PGR students around the world).

Come and Visit

Experience the community

By far the best way to work out if Trinity is the right fit for you is to come and visit us. At our Open Days you’ll get a chance to look around the college, meet current students and faculty, and hear about our different courses and pathways. We encourage spouses and children to come, too, and will arrange childcare if that’s helpful.

Come and
visit us!

The best way to see if we’re a good fit for you is to come and visit. We have several Open Days and Open Afternoons every year, and if those don’t work for you we can arrange a visit another time. We’re always happy to answer any questions you have about studying and life at Trinity.
