I love it! It's great to see Roy, Dale, and especially Trigger AND Trigger, Jr. in all their colorful glory! This is the second Kino Lorber release of a Roy Rogers TruColor movie, Sunset In The West being their previous release. I hope KL Studio keeps on releasing these great movies. There were 19 of Roy's last few movies made in TruColor, but to my knowledge only about a dozen of them still exist in their original color format, the color prints of the others having been either lost or destroyed. In 1991 Republic Pictures Home Video released an 8 movie VHS set entitled The Roy Rogers Collection. All 8 of these movies were in color and pretty good quality. Trigger Jr. is only the third movie that was part of this set that has been released on dvd...at least in their original uncut length. GoodTimes Video released some of them in their Happy Trails Theater series, but they were edited and cut for television. Some other good studio releases you can probably still find on dvd are Susanna Pass (Grapevine Video), Springtime In The Sierras (Film Chest), and Bells Of Coronado (Lions Gate).

I had to take time out to quickly right that this restoration of the film
is near the best I have ever seen a Tru-Color Roy Rogers print.
I want to support it, in hopes that Kino finds it worthwhile to find more
Roy Rogers 35MM prints to make uncut, beautifully preserved prints to
release on Blu Ray.
It is often a gamble of what one of Roy's films may look like when ordering
the, given to so many cut prints, color films turned to B & W and bad dupes.
Toby Roan's Commentary is filled with information, and includes comments
not just by William Witney's son, Jae Dee, but also some by the Dad himself.
If more of Roy's films can be restored in this manner,
I know I'd ride to corral them as quickly as I could.
So please, support this title. Who knows? More may become available.
Thanks.
And hang in there.

An excellent addition to the DVD library for western fans and especially Roy Rogers fans. Here is hoping that KL Studio classics (Kino Lorber) will not stop remastering Roy Rogers in the new 4K scan mode with Sunset in the West and Trigger Jr. films. The commentary by film historian Toby Roan and J.D. Whitney add to the production value. I am looking forward to other Roy Rogers releases in this format. The bonus feature of trailers, rounds the product off nicely. I was especially glad to get Sunset in the West in this format as previously I was only able to get it on VHS. This appears to be the full unedited version of both prints.

I am a big fan of the late Roy Rogers and this movie is one of my favorites. It is one of several of his movies focused on horses--namely, Trigger and Trigger's son. It has plenty of drama, suspense, and action, with great shots of the horses. I recommend this movie to horse-lovers, especially. Trigger is blinded in a fight with a killer stallion, and Trigger, Jr. must step in and face dangerous situations as he also helps a young boy overcome his fear of horses. THe movie is well-done and the pacing is good.

Love Roy Rogers !!

Dale Evans stated in one of the Happy Trails interviews that this and another film were her favorites. So I purchased Trigger Jr. and it was not as expected. I was more interested in the cute movies that she made with Roy and this film was a human interest story and I didn't like the characters. Roy was not a lawman, (just a guy), Gabby was mean and nasty (not my Gabby Hayes...please), and Dale was cute but being Gabby's character's daughter she sided with Gabby most of the time until the end. Roy got thrown in jail. He was framed. The horses were fabulous of course, and that was what held this picture together for me. It's not a happy film like some of the others that I love. It ends okay and does have a happy ending.

I've never seen a Roy Rogers cowboy movie where the color was truly true. Almost brought tears to my eyes. Just beautiful! Things that should be blue are blue, and best of all the shadows are not bright blue for a change. Only negative is the lack of subtitles which is truly stupid of Kino.

Truly a Wonderful Movie Experience
Reviewed in Canada on February 10, 2019
It's truly a wonderful experience to watch this restored Trucolor Roy Rogers film on blu ray with its amazing color rendition and detail. This gorgeous movie positively brings back memories with Roy, Dale, Pat Brady, the Riders of the Purple Sage, and both Trigger and Trigger Jr. all in one entertaining western adventure. Hopefully, other Roy Rogers Trucolor movies will soon be released on blu ray. Here's hoping.

Trucolor never looked better.

Kino have done it again. As with their earlier Roy Rogers release of "Sunset in the West" we now get an even better movie in the form of "Trigger Jr". The restored 4K treatment makes this film appear as though it was made yesterday. The color is superb and looks more like Technicolor than it does Trucolor. All I can hope for is that Kino continue to release these beautifully restored Roy Rogers titles.
