4>5>3 imo

I agree 100%. 4 was top tier. Great story, antagonist, and environment.

And man the world of Kyrat ♥️♥️. We're never gonna get a map like that in FC

I easily had the most fun playing 4!

It's the only game I've played multiple times back back to see all alternative endings.

Hated the mountain jail part of it every single time though! I can handle that shit I shangri-la but not as Ajay!

4 is my favorite but 3 is a close second. 5 is good as far as gameplay overall and the prepper stashes are a lot of fun to find but 4 and 3 follow tourists essentially in the wrong place and the wrong time and just trying to survive their shitty circumstances and end up becoming cold blooded killers and helping out the community who helped them, and they actually communicate with their environment which I feel fleshes out the story more, 5 is just following a mute sheriff’s deputy following orders and killing terrorists. It’s almost like an open world Call of Duty. I love it, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best of the series

3 is my favorite. Loved Vaas, loved the mystisisim of it all. And loved just roaming the jungles mercing people.

5 however feels like it has the smoother gameplay and is hilarious and kind of gets a "hits close to home" point because, while not as extreme as PEG ive dealt with similar kind growing up. So its kind of cathartic to give them their comupence. Also, while I liked the actual wildlife of 3 more, 5's hunting felt better.

4.

4!

To be honest I like 2. 3 I wish 4th had a better story, but it was good as far as gameplay goes. I like 6, but it kind of gets boring after a bit. The gameplay on 5 was going in a good direction until they started putting that laser gun stuff, and I didn't like the story. There are all kinds of cults in history that were pretty mean, so i don't know why they used Christianity. That part make a lot of sense that is the game play . I also miss the way the hunting was on numbers 3 and 4. I am going to ask you a question. What did you or anybody think of the old 2-player missions on farcry? I wish they didn't take those off of the ps4 version.

3 was the first far cry game I’ve ever played. I fell in love with the entire story. I loved the Indiana Jones feeling when searching for the blade. I loved the atmosphere and found myself relating a bit to Vaas’ trauma. Overall it’ll always have a special place in my heart for those reasons:)

4>3>5

I still like 5 and it has good things about it, but it's a bit of a mess overall.

4 is the best it has improved game play on 3, Kyrat is the most interesting setting of any Farcry game and Pagan Min is the best antagonist of the franchise imo.

Unpopular opinion coming up but I prefer 6 over 5. In my opinion 5 isn't very exotic ( which is kind of a pre-requisite for a Farcry game)and the antagonists in 5 are boring What really kills 5 for me though is the resistance points followed by the enforced captures, cut scenes and multiple escapes Rook has to go through it's just tedious and feels like the story line is being forced rather than the player moving the story line along at their own pace. While 6 has faults it at least feels like I'm deciding how the revolution is progressing as I chose when various storyline missions and moments happen. Rather than the "shoot him with a bliss arrow" followed by another Seed monologue of 5.

5 and 4. 3 had some issues but I think 4 fixed it.

Honesty? Call me a heretic but here's my mainline list of those I've played:

4>3>2>1>5.

Yeah you're damn right I'm rating 5 below the first game. 5's writing is a joke. It gets character writing right for the three antagonists and companions, but the main Seed antagonist is a fucking joke of a villain. I'd have nothing but shame if I was the one to write that game's stupid ending.

I'd rather have a cliché game like Far Cry 1 that ends well rounded than the travesty that is Far Cry 5. The journey don't mean shit when your destination is such a trainwreck.

I prefer 4 because it's just more polished 3 in terms of gameplay and I like the better written faction in The Golden Path. Take the time to listen to what the soldiers and civilians say and you realize it's much more fleshed out than just Amita Vs. Sabal.

Now if we're talking ONLY gameplay, then it's this:

5>4>3>2>1.

5's gameplay is very fun. I just utterly despise it's writing. And writing is the most important thing for me in a game. Especially when the game expects you to take it seriously.

You also can't have the fucking audacity to sit there and pull "the prior games aren't in a shared universe" despite there being objective proof otherwise.

Far cry5 and new dawn. They HAVE to be played consecutively to really be appreciated (my opinion)

The amount of answers saying 4 isn’t something I’d expected, you guys inspired me to try it out, thank you!

Go on, you'll love the Himalayas 😎

3 has a special place in my heart especially since it’s the first Far Cry game I played. It is one of my favorite games of all time, although I do love 5 as well.

5 all day

If you’ve spent any time here then you know that people say they like 5 the most, but think Vaas is the best villain, and agree that overall 4 is the best.

5 is everything to me because it has John Seed and that's all that matters
