Exhibition in memory of fine artist from Romania inaugurated at Chisinau-based museum

Chisinau, 7 July /MOLDPRES/ - A commemorative exhibition titled, Traian Mocanu – painting and drawing, in the memory of a departed fine artist from Iasi, Traian Mocanu, was inaugurated at the National Art Museum of Moldova today.
The exhibition comprises 40 works of painting and 16 ones of drawing, made by the departed painter in the last 20 years.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the institution’s director, Tudor Zbarnea, said that he ruled to bring the exhibition to Chisinau, after he had seen it at the National Art Museum (Palace of Culture) from Iasi. According to Zbarnea, Traian Mocanu was a full artist, who was deeply thinking about his fine art discourse; at the same time, he was a poet and an essayist, who promoted the fine arts from Romania.
Drawer, poet and essayist Traian Mocanu was born in Iasi on 26 August 1954 and in 1977, he graduated from the Nicolae Grigorescu Fine Arts institute of Bucharest. After the education, Mocanu participated in more exhibitions.
In the literature sector, the artist distinguished himself through more volumes of poems. Traian Mocanu was awarded more prizes in the fields of painting and literature. He died in late March 2020.
The exhibition will be open till 15 August.
