Benton Harbor’s GhostLight Theatre opens fifth season with Tracy Letts' ‘The Minutes’
‘The Minutes’ opens fifth season at Benton Harbor’s GhostLight
BENTON HARBOR — The GhostLight Theatre opens its fifth season with “The Minutes” from April 18 to 28 at 101 Hinkley St.
Written by Tracy Letts, the new comedy is about small-town politics and real-world power that exposes the ugliness behind some of the nation's closely-held American narratives while asking audience members what they would do to keep from becoming history’s losers.
“We are at a moment in America where it feels like we are being pulled apart at the seams by the dueling power of our sacred narratives,” Chicago-based director Nate Cohen says in a press release. “Can we confront our history? ('The Minutes') is brilliant because it balances two things — the horrible power of conviction unchecked by reason, and the side-splitting absurdity that is the dysfunction of local government.”
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. April 18-20 and 25-27 and at 3 p.m. April 21 and 28.
Tickets are $28-$20.
