2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?

The five-seat, four-door Toyota Corolla hatchback is a sporty compact car that competes with the Mazda3 hatchback and Volkswagen Golf. It’s powered by a 168-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a six-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission.

What’s New on the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?

Android Auto smartphone connectivity joins Apple CarPlay for 2020. A contrasting black roof is now optional, and a new Nightshade version gets blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels and black exterior trim.

What Features in the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Are Most Important?

Like the Corolla sedan, the Corolla hatchback blends an easy-to-drive feel and good fuel economy. The hatchback’s long list of standard active safety features includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning with steering assist and automatic high-beam headlights.

Should I Buy the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?

With a starting price of a little more than $21,000, the Corolla hatchback is an affordable compact car that also offers some driving fun. The engine is noisy, however, and there isn’t a lot of storage space in the cabin.

Best car I ever had. Reliable. Fun. Must have it

This car saved me today from a car accident. I fell asleep behind the wheel and the alarm system woke me up when I got too close to the car in front of me. I had just enough time to break. This system can save a life. I am so thankful for who designed this car. Fabulous work. Very reliable, elegant, fun to drive.

Most reliable car I ever owned

This car meets all my needs. It’s sporty , but also practical. Enough leg room for driver and passenger. Runs smooth and quiet. Display is very informative and easy to navigate. Comfortable seats.

As expected, really love my Corolla.

Perfect size for my needs. Often times traffic in Atlanta is a challenge, my car is peppy and reactive as well as reliable. Love the style which gets a lot of comments.
