While the lovable drifter Jubilo had to fight in World War I, his wayward wife and their daughter Rose have run off with another man. Upon his return to the United States, Jubilo sets out in search of Rose. His wife appears to have died just before the end of the war. When Jubilo arrives in a small town, he learns that his now grown daughter Rose has grown up with the widely respected judge Hardy and his wife and fortunately knows nothing about her true identity. After assessing the situation, Jubilo decides to leave alone again and not tell Rose that he is her real father. But then Jublilo has to deal with Rose when her boyfriend is wrongly accused of a crime.
