The Walking Dead

Tony Moore was born Michael Anthony Moore in Lexington, Kentucky, and is best known for his work on horror and science fiction comic books. In 1996, he wsa selected to attend The Governor's School for the Arts as a visual arts. He studied drawing, painting and printmaking at the University of Louisville, while working his first comics project with Robert Kirkman.

Moore and Kirkman set up their own label, Funk-O-Tron LLC in 2000, through which they published their comic book 'Battle Pope'. Moore and Kirkman then produced work on Mattel's 'Masters of the Universe' before they launched the comic book series 'Brit' and the award-winning 'The Walking Dead' at Image Comics in 2003.

Moore left 'The Walking Dead' to Charlie Adlard after issue 6, but continued to work as the cover artist. He moved on to work on his own creations, such as 'The Exterminators' with Simon Oliver (DC/Vertigo) and 'Fear Agent' with Rick Remender (Dark Horse). He has also contributed to Marvel's 'Ghost Rider' and 'Punisher'.
