Those slams might have been on brand — but they’re probably gonna cost him.
Rising insult comedian Tony Hinchcliffe has reportedly been dropped by his big-bucks representation after spouting outrageous racial slurs last week during a performance in Austin, Texas.
Best known for his work on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast and writing slams about Justin Bieber and Bruce Willis for the “Comedy Central Roast,” the 36-year-old wiseacre was the recipient of a glowing intro by fellow comic Peng Dang at Austin’s Big Laugh Comedy club — and then things went awry.
Dallas-based Dang, 36, first called out the disturbing digs in a social media post on Tuesday: “Last week in Austin, I got to bring up Tony Hinchcliffe,” he tweeted. “This is what he said. Happy Asian (AAPI) Heritage Month!” The accompanying clip has since racked up more than 1 million views on Twitter, and it also went viral on TikTok after being shared by fellow comic Mike Kim.
Dang, who is of Chinese descent, hyped the crowd to “give it up for the one and only Tony Hinchcliffe,” who promptly responded by mocking Dang’s accent and calling him a “filthy little f—ing c—k.”
The audience can be heard cheering at Hinchcliffe’s remarks — but he might not be laughing after being dumped by his talent agent at top agency William Morris Endeavor, aka WME, TMZ reported.
Reps for Hinchcliffe did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
Among Hinchcliffe’s other bombshell bon mots: Using a mocking Asian accent, he quipped, “Oh, we make gunpowder,” “Oh, you want extra soy sauce?” and “Oh, you borrow money from us.”
Dang told Asian-American news outlet NextShark that he had to “step outside during the performance” because the routine upset him. He added that he was “utterly shocked” and said many audience members were uncomfortable.
The standup guys did not speak to each other after the show, he added.
Thousands of comments piled up on Twitter, with some fans pointing out that such content is all part of Hinchcliffe’s well-known “insult” comedy shtick — while thousands of others expressed outrage at Dang being exposed to such hateful language.
Peng told TMZ Live that Hinchcliffe’s dropping the C-word absolutely “crossed the line.”
Although he’s opened up for Hinchcliffe once before this incident, Dang confirmed to Asian American outlets that the pair are not friends.
Meanwhile, the incident comes on the heels of the social media hashtag campaign #StopAsianHate, which is geared to raise awareness about an alarming rise in anti-Asian violence around the US.
