Saw 11 is not going to be arriving as soon as previously thought. The film was originally set to drop on Sept. 27, but it's been pushed back to Sept. 26, 2025. Billy the Puppet personally confirmed the news in a video shared online.

"You've all anticipated my return asking when I may appear before you once more but anticipation is a funny thing," the puppet said in the post, adding that he and his associates are hard at work refining "new traps to razor sharp perfection." He added, "You should expect nothing less. These traps will be made all the better with just a little time. The clock is ticking." Also brandished is the new release date at the end of the video.

The puppet's speech may be alluding to the reason why Saw 11 was delayed by a full year. TheWrap is reporting that the delay is meant to allow the filmmakers more time to tweak the sequel to perfection, hoping for "maximum success after the release of Saw X." Notably, Saw X earned high praise upon its debut, which brought back fan favorite franchise star Tobin Bell as John Kramer, aka Jigsaw.

Saw 11 Remains Shrouded in Mystery

As of now, it's not entirely clear what will happen in Saw 11. Saw X was set in between the first two films of the series, and it hasn't been confirmed if Saw 11 will be continuing to follow Bell's Jigsaw at other points in the timeline before the character's death. What's known is that the new film will be directed by franchise mainstay Kevin Greutert, who previously helmed Saw X, as well as 2009's Saw VI and 2010's Saw: The Final Chapter. However, the writers of Saw X won't be returning.
