Ragnar the Younger

Uhtred’s Danish brother Ragnar the Younger is brave, loyal and fair, and will come to Uhtred’s aid when he’s most needed, despite struggling with his brother’s enduring loyalty to Alfred and the Saxon cause.

Tobias Santelmann

Tobias Santelmann is a Norwegian/Scandinavian actor, born in Germany and trained at The Norwegian National Theatre School. Alongside The Last Kingdom, Tobias is currently starring in Norway’s Acquitted, The Heavy Water War and playing a supporting role in the Warner Bros series Point Break. Other credits include Eyewitness, Rhesus and Leave me Alone (nominated at the International EMMY Awards in 2013). MGM and Paramount Pictures’ feature film Hercules: The Thracian Wars was Tobias’ first English language role.

Tobias has been nominated for Best male actor in a supporting Role and Best Newcomer at the Norwegian Film Awards. Tobias was first introduced to an international audience through his role in Kon‐Tiki which was Oscar and Golden Globe nominated film 2013 in the category Best Foreign Film. Tobias lives in Oslo and speaks Norwegian, German and English. He is a member of the band ‘The Young Suffering Ensemble’.
