Tisa Farrow’s legacy
The L.A.-born daughter of actress Maureen O’Sullivan and director John Farrow, Tisa Farrow made attempts to break into acting right out of high school, but said she often ran into difficulties finding work because people disliked her sister, Mia Farrow. She made her debut in 1970’s “Homer,” a small Canadian drama film.
Roles in a series of offbeat, often daring films followed, including the thriller “And Hope to Die” in 1972, the 1978 crime drama “Fingers” in which she appeared with Harvey Kietel, the Canadian action film “Search and Destroy” in 1979, and the Italian horror film “Zombi 2,” also known as “Zombie” in the U.S.
Farrow eventually left acting in the 1980s and became an ER nurse.
On trying to find work as an actress:
“I spent a long time going around town trying out for commercials, and I didn’t get one. I would always run into some career woman who disliked me right away because she didn’t like my sister Mia.”—from a 1970 interview with The New York Times
