Season 1 of the Yellowstone spinoff 1883 came to a tragic end last week. And while the show followed the Dutton family's hardship-filled journey west, it sounds like the actors had some fun behind the scenes.

The cast includes superstars like Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Sam Elliott, LaMonica Garrett, Isabel May, and Billy Bob Thornton. Even Hollywood power couple Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson had cameos. So, what is it really like with all of this high-profile talent on set?

Tim, who traded his cowboy hat for an 1883 stocking cap, shared some tidbits with his fans on Instagram.

"We had so much fun making this show. My favorite thing was getting to work with my wife, but getting to work alongside Sam Elliott, who is just a legend," Tim said. "Everything that you'd ever think that he was, he lived up to. He was just one of the nicest, sweetest guys in the world.

"But one particular day, I told Sam, I said, you know, thanks for doing this and being a part of this. I just wanted to let you know that I've learned so much from watching you. And he just looked at me and said, 'Oh yeah? Well, I haven't learned a ----ing thing from you.' So, thanks, Sam! Enjoyed it."

Fans of 1883 loved hearing this lighthearted behind-the-scenes story. One wrote, "Lol! That sounds like Sam! I love that guy ❤️ and Thank you for your participation. I've enjoyed the show so much! I look forward to watching it every Sunday." Another said, "😂 sounds like Sam has a great sense of humor 🙌❤️🔥."

Many viewers took to the comments section to beg for more episodes. While a second season has not been confirmed, Paramount+ has announced that more episodes are on the way, and the next chapter of the Yellowstone saga, 1932, is in the works too. We can't wait to see where the story goes next.
