Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, Lord Glamis (6 February 1801 – 27 January 1834) was an heir to the Earldom of Strathmore and Kinghorne. He was the only son of Thomas Lyon-Bowes, 11th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and Mary Elizabeth Louisa Rodney Carpenter. He is the second great grandfather of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

Baptism: 1 June 1801 Kimpton, Hertford, England Father's Name Thomas Earl Of Strathmore Lyon-Bowes Mother's Name Mary Elizabeth Carpenter. [1]

On 21 December 1820, he married Charlotte Grimstead, daughter of Joseph Valentine Grimstead, of Ewood Park and Merry Hall, and Charlotte Jane Sarah Walsh.

They had seven children:

  1. Thomas Lyon-Bowes (18 October 1821 – 18 October 1821)

The bio should say that he is the second great grandfather of Queen Elizabeth II, not her great grandfather. Thanks!

Oh goodness, I must have been seeing things. You had it right the first time. I was seeing his bio say Queen Elizabeth II, but it's referring to her mother, in which case, yes, he was the Queen Mother's great grandfather, and QEII's second great grandfather. Sorry!

Bowes-Lyon-90 and Lyon-Bowes-3 appear to represent the same person because: Same father and child. Spelling of last name to be resolved before merge
