EXCLUSIVE: Meet One of the Hero Pups of the World Dog Awards

The awards will air on The CW on Thursday 8/7 p.m. CT

It’s awards season, and it’s not just for humans anymore.

Among the hub-bub about Oscar nominations and Golden Globe results, The CW is taking a night to recognize the dogs who have given amazing performances in the real world. The CW’s World Dog Awards airs this Thursday at 8 / 7 p.m. CT and is hosted by George Lopez for the second year in a row. We got a sneak peek of one of the adorable winners you can expect to see strutting across the stage.

Saint the dog was given the Award of Loyalty for holding down the home front while his owner, U.S. solider Brandon Harbaugh, was away on active duty. While the Blackhawk pilot was defending our country overseas, Saint waited patiently until he returned and kept spirits high around the house. All the waiting paid off: Saint was reunited with his best friend on the World Dog Awards stage with help from Dogs on Deployment, a non-profit that helps service members care for their dogs while they are deployed.

Watch the touching (and slobbery!) reunion above, and tune into The CW at 8/7 p.m. CT on Thursday for even more amazing canine moments at the World Dog Awards.
