The Wheel of Time season 3 has now wrapped filming, and the cast tease what's to come in a new video. Serving as an adaptation of the popular The Wheel of Time book series by Robert Jordan, Prime Video's fantasy show premiered in 2021, bringing the author's epic fantasy world to life. Before the show returned for season 2 in 2023, it was confirmed that a season 3 was also on the way, with production beginning in the spring of last year.

Now, as the wait for The Wheel of Time season 3 continues, a new video from the official The Wheel of Time X account reveals that filming on the new batch of episodes has wrapped. Check it out below:

The video features cast members Rosamund Pike, Marcus Rutherford, Ayoola Smart, Joshua Stradowski, and Daniel Henney, with Henney promising that the new episodes are "big".

Nothing official has been revealed about whether The Wheel of Time's season 4 will happen, but there's reason to be optimistic. It's worth noting, for example, that season 3 got the green light before season 2 had even been released, suggesting that the show has been a success in terms of viewership. As seen from the chart of Rotten Tomatoes scores below, it's also been quite well-received by both audiences and critics.

What's more, The Wheel of Time franchise is expected to further expand over the coming years. After getting an animated companion series in 2021, it was announced in December 2023 that a trilogy of live-action films is currently in development. The first of these Wheel of Time movies is The Age of Legends, which will take place long before the series and chronicle the rise of the Dark One and those who are brave enough to first stand against him. These live-action films are in addition to an animated prequel called The White Tower.

It remains to be seen how The Wheel of Time season 3 is received by audiences and critics, but Amazon is clearly betting big on the franchise as it continues to expand. It's also worth noting that there are 14 books in Jordan and Brandon Sanderson's novel series, meaning there is plenty of source material still to adapt. The Wheel of Time season 3 doesn't yet have a firm release date, but it's looking likely that series still has plenty of gas left in the tank.
