In anticipation of the release of The Gold Experience, the first album credited to his infamously unpronounceable symbol, Prince issued The Versace Experience: Prelude 2 Gold as a gift to attendees of the designer's collection at Fashion Week in Paris during the summer of 1995. The cassette, which featured remixed versions of future favorites "Pussy Control," "Gold" and "Eye Hate U" as well as rare and commercially unreleased selections by The New Power Generation and Prince's jazz-fusion project Madhouse, remains one of the rarest Prince releases of all time.

I just received my special Prince collector CD everything is great except the two cracks in the jewel case. I've NEVER had any delivery issues with Amazon, first time for everything I know but this is "Prince". I don't know how it when the crack could've happened BUT I'm happy that was the only damage. The CD has no scratches, smudges, or cracks and as you can see from my photos everything else is in tip top condition. Oh how can I forget, it sounds amazing. Of course it's Prince. It arrived as promised and I'm pleased. Thank you Amazon!

While "The Gold Experience" is among Prince's Top 5 albums, this sampler set that was produced for a Versace fashion show is little more than an appetizer. There are excerpts and remixes of songs on "The Gold Experience," although noticeably sped up on this vinyl release. Unfortunately, a re-release of "The Gold Experience" is being held up by some ridiculous Italian court ruling concerning whether Prince lifted parts of "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" from “Takin’ Me to Paradise” by Raynard. J. So, this is meant to appease fans for the time being. The real jewels here are you get "Rootie Kazootie" from the never released Madhouse 24 album and some remixes of "P Control."

Being honest, I think it has maybe got a bad rap.
Nice 2 hear the familiar tunes with a little twist & a couple of cuts not from the "gold experience".

I just wanted to chime in here because I've read so many negative reviews about this release.
Any TRUE Prince fan would know that this was originally on cassette only and used during a Versace fashion Show in the 90s to promote the upcoming release of The Gold Experience.
The cassette was one of the most sought after and expensive items to acquire of Prince's.
Kudos to the estate for releasing it not only on cd, but vinyl as well.

Ahora lo han sacado en vinilo morado ,muy buena presentación pero le falta por dentro alguna información o fotos ya que viene en blanco y poco currado. Por todo lo general es un buen disco
