“I never got the call,” WWE HOF’er says he was the missing puzzle in the highly criticized WrestleMania XL showdown between Jey and Jimmy Uso

For most fans, the storied brother vs. brother saga between Jey and Jimmy, The Usos, was quite an underwhelming affair at WrestleMania XL. But not for their Hall of Fame dad, Rikishi. Speaking on Rikishi Fatu Off The Top, the 58-year-old analyzed how his sons fared in Philadelphia. For their pops, Jimmy and Jey delivered. However, he wished they’d been given some more time.

Rikishi thought that he was the missing puzzle in there. It would’ve added to the match, according to The Samoan Stinker. But, as he said, at the end of the day, he doesn’t call the shots. The Anoa’i family member confirmed that WWE never reached out to him. He was in Philadelphia itself, albeit, things didn’t pan out.

The wrestling great thought that he could’ve easily been made a special guest referee. But he outright refuted the idea of him being a manager, as it would’ve favored one of his two boys. By the looks of it, the former Too Cool member yearned to be a part of WrestleMania XL. And don’t be mistaken; he wanted to be there for his kids.

I only wish that they could have had a little bit more time. I felt like there was a missing puzzle there, which is the guy who you’re listening to now.........I was right close by, I was in Philadelphia. Everybody knew where I was at, but I never got the call.

Nonetheless, the third brother vs. brother match in WrestleMania history is in the books, and boy, it was a snoozefest, as the fans expressed. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer rated the match a paltry 0.75 stars. After it was all said and done, everyone thought that WWE should’ve pulled the trigger on Jey vs. Jimmy right after last year’s SummerSlam. Their vitriol for each other escalated at a point when the company decided to hold them off until April, and it eventually cooled off.

What’s next for Jey and Jimmy, The Usos?

On the back of a huge win at WrestleMania, Jey Uso piled up on the momentum this past Monday on Raw. He emerged victorious in a Fatal-4-Way match to be next in line for Damian Priest‘s World Heavyweight Championship.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, things just exacerbated for big brother Jimmy. He was kicked out of The Bloodline by Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga, the debutant. Paul Heyman seemed restless as he saw Jimmy Uso getting laid out with a grim expression on his face.

Fans will probably get an answer to that unprecedented onslaught in the upcoming weeks. However, rumors have picked up that the reunion of The Usos might be on the cusp as well. Now that Jimmy has been axed from The Bloodline, he could receive the backing of The Yeet Master.
