For 11 seasons, Jimmy Fallon has entertained late-night audiences five nights a week as Host of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Fallon is known for his good-natured rapport with celebrity guests, often dissolving into laughter over a shared joke. The creative, freewheeling games that make the show so unique, from “Box of Lies” to “The Whisper Challenge” to “Water War,” are another major reason why fans love tuning in, as are the many musical moments that draw on Fallon’s own talents as a longtime performer.

“I just really want to be the outlet of joy,” Fallon told CBS News in a March 2023 interview, later adding that the best reaction from the show’s fans would be, “Thank you, thank you for being silly so that you can make me not think about my problems."

The talk show has earned 11 Emmy nominations since its launch in 2014 — further evidence that NBC’s iconic program has become a modern classic in the hands of Jimmy Fallon, Grammy-winning house band The Roots, announcer Steve Higgins, and everyone who works hard behind the scenes to make each episode.

Jimmy Fallon is one of six permanent Hosts in Tonight Show history.

“Of course, I wouldn't be here tonight if it weren't for the previous Tonight Show Hosts,” Fallon said in his very first monologue. “So I want to say thank you to Steve Allen, Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, and Jay Leno." (Leno left in 2009, but returned to host again from 2010-2014).
