Well we were rather promised 'A Ghost Story at Christmas' with Mark Gatiss adaptation of MR James' The Tractate Middoth but, good though that was, tonight's chilly offering, The Thirteenth Tale (based on the novel by Diane Setterfield) trumped that entirely.

I only watched this whole thing because I saw sophie turner was in it, and was it worth it? yes absolutely it was. she looked so, so good with that wild red hair and those cardigans and that one scene where she was smoking.
El año pasado me leí esta novela sobre gemelas, fantasmas y misterios familiares y como la consigna de oa semana del club era la adaptación de un misterio me decidí por esta peli.
Qué decirles, me gustó mucho la ambientación de la peli pero recontra condensaron en una hora y media una historia muy rica que quedó muy desaprovechada. Ya desde el inicio no nos dan una intro como la gente, Margaret actúa como una receptora nomás y aunque vemos que carga con su propio pasado no le dieron el contexto que tenía en la novela.

It was better than i expected from the poor ratings, however, it could have been ever better if it fully committed to the creepiness, coz I enjoyed the mystery side of it and it unfolded nicely.
Pretty solid for a TV movie though.
Kinda felt like something you’d watch in your year ten English class whilst u were studying gothic literature as a little Christmassy treat… not bad but very uninspired

olivia coleman gave me a lot of serotonin in this i won’t lie to you but the plot was low-key confusing for a second but a fun and fresh twist
