The Official Vimeo of Filmmaker JAMES FRANCIS KHEHTIE | BAFTA Los Angeles® Winner and Australian Academy Awards® Nominee | WWW.KHEHTIE.COM
James Francis Khehtie is an Australian filmmaker. A BAFTA Los Angeles® winner and Australian Academy Awards® nominee, he directed and produced THE TELEGRAM MAN.
Starring Australian and international screen legends Jack Thompson, Gary Sweet and Sigrid Thornton, THE TELEGRAM MAN explores the impact of World War II on a close-knit Australian farming community. The film was selected, out of more than 15,000 entries submitted from around the world, as one of the 50 semi-finalists for Your Film Festival, a global film competition conducted by Ridley Scott, Michael Fassbender, Google, Emirates and the Venice Film Festival.
A recipient of 50 awards, THE TELEGRAM MAN has been screened in 200 film festivals and commemorations around the world. The film was screened to over 28,500 people just prior to the Dawn Services at the 2012 – 2019 ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Day Commemorations in Gallipoli, Turkey and Villers-Bretonneux, France. ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during World War I. It is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, commemorated by both countries on April 25th every year to honour the members of the ANZAC who fought at Gallipoli.
Regarded as a film of artistic, cultural and historical significance by the OSCARS® | Academy Awards® Film Archive, THE TELEGRAM MAN is part of its permanent collection at the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study in Hollywood. The Archive collects, preserves and provides access to moving images that represent significant contributions to the art and science of motion pictures.
THE TELEGRAM MAN is available on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, Verizon FiOS, Beamafilm and SBS On Demand.
