Cowboy Rick, on his way to visit his sweetheart, encounters a bevy of beautiful Indian maidens and dallies with one of them. Later, when one of the girls is murdered by a passing no-good, the tribe falsely blames Rick and sentences him to die. But Tuwanna, the chief's daughter with whom Rick, um, dallied, has other ideas.

It's boring as hell, but it has some members of the actual Manson family in the cast. Some parts were funny, but it eventually just faded into the background.
Notable solely for the presence of two(!) Manson Family members -- Bobby Beausoleil and Catherine Share (they met on the set when Beausoleil's character murders Share's). Though it's questionable if Beausoleil was in the Family proper and uninvolved in the Tate-Bianca killings, he was responsible for the murder of Gary Hinman at Manson's behalf and is still in prison today. Share never participated in the Tate-Bianca murders, but would be convicted of attempted murder after the discovery of a plot to kill a fellow Family member to prevent her from testifying. She would be one of the women who infamously carved an X into her forehead during Manson's trial.

Another Dave Friedman film I wasn't particularly kind to when reviewing it upon its DVD release by Image way back when, I'm pleasantly surprised at how much more I enjoyed Ed Forsyth's THE RAMRODDER when revisiting it. It's certainly one of the strongest adult westerns from this era, with enough tantalizing sensuality mixed with a strong story and admirable tech specs to help it stand out from the pack. There's simply no comparison between this and say, BRAND OF SHAME or FANDANGO.

Movie Challenge 2023: 104 Years in 52 Weeks: Movie #26 out of 104
The cinematic life goal of watching as many exploiters from the most diverse subgenres as possible sometimes becomes very tedious.
This mixture of western and sexploitation is reminiscent of the "nudie cuties" that were extremely popular a few years earlier, in which viewers hungry for show value were presented with naked facts detached from any sexualized plots. Something like an at least halfway interesting plot is not present here at all, the fragment of a story is actually used without exception to present the viewer as many bare breasts as possible. This may be quite nice to look at for a few minutes, but over a running time of almost 90 minutes it quickly becomes damn tiring and so THE RAMRODDER is more of a sedative than an entertaining film.
A politically incorrect nightmare nowadays with its brown-faced white actors as native Americans and instances of sexual violence, but THE RAMRODDER is actually pretty good as vintage softcore westerns go. It's certainly much better than producer Dave Friedman's previous effort in this sub-genre, BRAND OF SHAME. There's also a Manson connection for those interested via two of the cast members and the shooting locations.
