Voltron Nevera, ‘Phantom of the Opera’ now open at Europa-Park
The new Voltron Nevera coaster and “Phantom of the Opera”-themed VR overlay to the Eurosat Coastiality coaster are now open at Europa-Park.
Voltron Nevera, a launch roller coaster, opened April 26, 2024, at Europa-Park in Rust, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The coaster, manufactured by Mack Rides, boasts the steepest launch in the world at 105 degrees. The ride reaches a height of 32.5 meters (about 107 feet) and speeds of up to 90 km/h (about 56 mph).
According to Europa-Park, the backstory of Voltron Nevera “follows scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla, who was born in what is now Croatia and who ushered in the electrical age with the help of the legendary Adventure Club of Europe.” Tesla has discovered that “people can be transformed into cosmic energy and transported from tower to tower as lightning.”
Voltron Nevera contains seven inversions and a dark ride section.
Guests must be at least 8 years old and at least 130 cm tall (about 51 inches) to ride Voltron Nevera. The ride utilizes a virtual line, and offers a single-rider line option.

During a grand opening moment earlier this week, the Mack family “flipped the switch” on Voltron Nevera’s electricity.
New Croatia-Inspired Area
With Voltron Nevera also comes the opening of the Croatia-themed area surrounding the coaster. The park’s new 17th European-inspired land is “particularly authentic thanks to the roots and personal commitment of my wife Miriam,” said Michael Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park and CEO of Mack One.
As they explore Croatia, guests can visit the Sunce i Lavanda ice cream parlor (which contains an animatronic of Nikola Tesla), the Imbiss Ćevapčići Snack dining location, the Suveniri Nikola gift shop, and the Croatian Inspiration exhibit. Visitors can also participate in an augmented reality mission throughout the Croatia area with the Europa-Park & Rulantica app. “Nikola Tesla’s Beautiful Croatia,” a 360-degree film, screens in the Dome of Dreams.

Eurosat Coastiality – The Phantom of the Opera opened April 24, 2024, in Europa-Park’s France area. The attraction brings the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical to life as a virtual reality (VR) roller coaster.
The new experience coexists alongside Eurosat – CanCan Coaster, inspired by “Moulin Rouge.” Both versions of the coaster share the same track, but board riders in separate load stations.
