Robert Koehler Variety The important and intriguing issue of classified global audio surveillance of private citizens is all but garbled in The Listening. Dec 14, 2006 Full Review Tim Grierson L.A. Weekly The Listening isn't really a thriller -- it's mostly a droning conspiracy theory dressed up in moderately exotic locales, high-tech jargon and a moralizing spying-is-wrong message. Dec 14, 2006 Full Review Jules Brenner Cinema Signals It has the earmarks of a lavish, high budget production for an all-star cast but the way it's done reminds me of the first time I tried to get up on skis. Audience Member I watched this purely from the perspective of being a Michael Parks fan. This stands out as one of the better films in his later career I feel, both for his performance and its qualty all round. The terrifying nature of the government's eavesdropping ability is exercised to great use. Parks plays quaint and good intentioned - something I haven't really seen him do before - and does it well. It's well directed and very dramatically involving throughout. Either to check out some decent Parks, or just a damn good government cover-up film, this one is certainly worth a look. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Scary technology. We are living in George Orwell's nightmare world. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The storyline was very confusing!!! you must listen and concentrate the whole movie to understand it!!! but wasn't good cuz the lead actor died in the end, well at least he save the girl's life!!!!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member An accumulation of bullshit about a worrisome subject ... not worth the time ! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Echelon l'a bien profond :) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly tenseful, despite the unusual lack of action (for a spy movie). Sansa is one of Italy's best young actresses. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
