Chris Hemsworth was great as usual and Jessica Chastain rocks! That part was made for her. Cherlize Theron was awesome even though her English accent faltered at times; doesn't matter, she definitely had presence and she exuded a lot of emotion. Chris' accent was a bit confusing for me to make out at times, but I love his deep, booming voice and he's nice to look at, too! As far as accents go, if you can't pull it off than stick with your own! You can mix it up nowadays, can't you? Emily Blunt was exceptional. I've seen her in many other films where she has done American accents, and she nails it each time. Whoever chose this cast did a splendid job. Seeing Sam Claflin in this project was an added plus. His diction is perfect! Doesn't hurt to enunciate now and then, and he always does! Sope Dirisu was super great and I'd like to see more of him.
The storyline was intriguing and finally made sense to me. No need for me to elaborate. The children were fabulous--the extras were as well. I always like to see what's going on in the background of any given movie especially when you have lots of extras on hand and, in this case, they each did their parts, gestures, expressions very well; and no one looked into the camera either! LOL! They were in sync with the main characters.
The action scenes were visibly well-done. You could actually see everything they were doing unlike other movie scenes whereby it moves so fast and it all seems garbled and muted. Not in this film. Special effects were great as was the soundtrack.
This is one of my favorite action films and it will be a great classic one day! I'm giving it a 5-star rating! I hope they all come back for yet another sequel!
When her young baby daughter has seemingly been killed by her lover 'Freya' (Emily Blunt) uses her long-since
forgotten 'Ice-Powers' to vent her grief killing him.
After which she abandons her sister 'Queen Ravenna's' (Charlize Theron) kingdom to create one of her own in
the north.
The kingdom she builds is in effect an ice-bound world, she commands that there will be no love in her domain..
she sets out to create an elite army with children trained-up to become her all-conquering soldiers...among those
'Eric' (Chris Hemsworth) and 'Sara' (Jessica Chastine)....the two after years of fighting for 'Queen Freya' break the
golden rule by falling in love and marrying.
The Queen confronts the two and creates an ice-wall to separate them, 'Eric' is cast out of the kingdom believing
'Sara' to have been killed....
Many years have passed, seven years after the evil sorceress 'Ravenna' had been killed, 'Queen Snow White' has
fallen ill after hearing 'Ravenna's' magic-mirror calling her.
'Snow White' orders that the mirror be taken to a safe place where it can do no more harm, however en-rout the
mirror goes missing.
'Eric' who these days ekes out an existence living of the fruits of the forest is asked as a fabled Huntsman to track
down the mirror and prevent it falling into the wrong hands.
'Eric' is joined by two dwarfs on his mission, when attacked by Huntsman in the service of 'Queen Freya' they are
saved by 'Sara' who 'Eric' had thought dead all these long years, but where do her loyalties really lie ??
The Mirror now in 'Freya's' hands.....by using the words 'Mirror Mirror on The Wall who is the Fairest of Them All'
she draws out, unexpectedly 'Ravenna' who's spirit had been trapped in the mirror these last seven years....
'Ravenna' demands control of her sisters army so she can march upon 'Snow White's' forces and reclaim the Kingdom.
Can 'Eric' and his small band prevent 'Ravenna' from imposing her evil intent upon the Kingdoms in the South ??
The Story will i'm certain resurface....it is not the end ?
Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron revisit their roles from 'Snow White and the Huntsman' to again fight the
battle of Good versus Evil
The fairy tale continues, though Snow White is nowhere to be seen, she remains a key-figure in the plot...
With much light humour and some enjoyable fight-sequences along with the visual powers of Freya and Ravenna
the film is an enjoyable spectacle and is in my opinion certainly the equal in terms of entertainment-value to 'Snow
White and the Huntsman'
The presentation has both the 'theatrical and extended version on-board along with the option on the two-discs to
view in either 3-D or Blu-ray.
A word of caution for younger viewers there is some coarse language along the way.

Charlize Theron is just not up-to-par in this film. Nor was she in the other. This role is just not suited for her. I don't find her a good actress and certainly not a great one. Her Oscar win was, as usual, politically motivated and her make-up team should have been awarded, not her. Her delivery as "Ravenna" was just awful. She was "given" 10 million dollars to reprise her role, in this film. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT FACT?! Beyond belief. I wouldn't have given her ten dollars. She tries too hard and good looks only get you to the door, you've got to deliver a good performance, she does not.
Chris Hemsworth is likable and plays his role well.
Sheridan Smith, Alexandra Roach, Rob Brydon and Nick Frost added a greatness to the film. As "dwarfs", they offered a sense of humanity AND morality as well as some comedy. The comedy was NOT over-the-top and played well.
Sope Dirisu's character had very little in dialogue, but this guy was great and is a great actor.
The special effects left NOTHING to be desired.
I was enthralled from beginning to end. Something I cannot say about the first film. This is, by far, a superior sequel. If Theron would have been left out, the studio would have been 10 million dollars richer and the movie would have been perfection.
