      B Rad The House By The Cemetery is a movie I want to love but it is so very flawed. terrible acting, terrible voice dubbing for "Bob". Gore is pretty good but the whole movie just falls short for me Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/29/23 Full Review Elvis D De todas las películas de horror que vi de niño, está fue la que más me traumatizo a tal grado que tuve pesadillas por muchísimos años (y no estoy exagerando). Está película la conocí por el canal Retro dónde me cruce con muchos clásicos y cuando se transmitió está película, ya hubo una especie de ruptura para mí. La trama se basó en la literatura de Lovecraft y a pesar de que tiene una historia simple con algunas cosas incoherentes según algunas personas, al final es una de esas películas donde la historia no importa, sino las escenas gráficas. En este caso tenemos los típicos elementos de Fulci quen son la violencia gráfica y el gore y un ambiente terrorífico. Talvez está película no parezca la gran cosa, pero no borra el hecho de que verla por primera vez fue una experiencia bastante traumática. Lo que destaca son las brutales escenas gore y otras que en serio me afectaron bastante tales como la escena del murciélago, los cuerpos mutilados en el sótano, la escena de la decapitación, todas las muertes, los ojos del asesino brillando en la oscuridad, llantos de niños haciendo eco, el diseño del asesino que a pesar de verse bastante falso me sigue pareciendo horripilante y la banda sonora que es tan tétrica que ni me atrevo a descargarla. Los que ya la vieron creerán que estoy exagerando, pero tomando en cuenta que yo tenía unos 12 años en aquel entonces, traten de ponerse en mi lugar. Jamás voy a olvidar lo traumático que fue esa experiencia y traté de borrar está película de mi mente, pero al final no pude. Admito que por muchos años le tuve bastante odio a esta cinta, pero después de que empecé a ver algunos títulos conocidos de Lucio Fulci y me gustaron, decidí darle a esta película otra oportunidad después de más de 10 años de haberla visto. Decidí mirarla dos veces y el odio que le tuve desapareció. De hecho ya no me asusta tanto como antes y empecé a verla con buenos ojos. Aún sigo creyendo que es una película aterradora y horripilante, pero por eso al final resulta que no es tan mala. Claro que está película fue criticada y hasta considerarla un plagio de The Shinning, pero con los años fue ganando aprecio hasta convertirse en una película de culto. Incluso también es considerada como una de las mejores películas de terror de la historia y eso algo que no puedo discutir porque seamos honestos, las mejores películas de terror siempre son las que generan terror. Ninguna de las películas que he visto estos últimos años me ha generado tanto terror como está y fue una sensación que nunca más volví a sentir, pero jamás podré olvidarla. Mi nota para esta película es un 8/10 y aunque no es una película que se le pueda recomendar a cualquiera, yo les digo basado en mi experiencia que si buscan algo que generé terror, sugiero que vean esta película porque debo admitir que fue la mejor película de terror que he visto y por eso la recomiendo. It scared the hell out of me when I first saw it back in 84-85. It's incredibly graphic. The biggest drawback is the choice of English voiceover actors, I think.
