The Last Supper

Jesus had a meal with his disciples to celebrate Passover. Christians call this the Last Supper.

Jesus knew that he was going to die and at the Last Supper he told the disciples that one of them was going to betray him.

Judas was one of the twelve disciples, and he had made a deal with the leaders who didn’t like Jesus. He told them he would lead them to Jesus, so that they could arrest him.

Jesus is arrested

Later that night, Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane where he had gone to pray.

He knew that it was God’s plan for him to die, but he was still scared.

Jesus was arrested for saying that he was the Son of God. Even though he had shown this by his miracles and actions, some of the religious leaders still did not believe him.

Good Friday

Jesus died on the cross on Good Friday.

Christians believe that Jesus died so that our sins (wrong doings) could be forgiven.

Jesus’ body was placed in a cave, but three days later he rose from the dead.

Christians call this the resurrection. They believe it demonstrates that Jesus was indeed the Son of God.
