Kylie is married to her high school sweetheart, and they make their home in Iowa. She insists that all her heroes are based on her husband of 23 years because he possesses that most heroic of make qualities — ironing skills. Those abilities come in handy, as she juggles a full time teaching job with writing and a family.
Doing things the easy way has never held much appeal for this multi award-winning author. She graduated with high honors from the University of Northern Iowa. A graduation photo shows her in cap and gown holding her two sons, one aged 16 months and the other three weeks. She went on to obtain a teaching job working with learning-disabled children while completing her master’s degree at night and during summers.
"There was a time in my life when I could imagine myself as a life-long student," she recalls. "I actually toyed with the idea of pursuing a doctorate. But instead, my life took a spin and I ended up writing romances. I’ve never regretted it!" Her family has since been completed by the birth of another son and a set of twins, a boy and a girl.
Kylie’s books are regularly featured on bestseller lists such as Waldenbooks and B. Dalton Bookseller. With over a million copies of books in print, her novels have been distributed in 20 countries and released in seven languages.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Business of Strangers after reading my most recent story. It was comprised of action, a kick-as* alpha heroine, an anti-hero, sizzling chemistry and an interesting plot. I finished this story in record time.

Someone wanted a woman dead. Washed up on a foreign shoreline and stricken with amnesia, she had been shot -twice- and was near death. If not for Luz -the young mother who found her- she would have died.
The injured woman had no past. She couldn’t understand why someone wanted to kill her. All of this is found in the prologue. Be sure and read it.
Six years later, Chapter 1 started off with a word: “Freeze!”.
With the exception of a few minor quibbles, I thought this was a really good Silhouette Moments. As the cover said, Sparked by Danger, Fueled by Passion. Because less is more, I will end my review here. ;-))

heroine is a merc/ criminal (albeit against her will), which is rare in romancelandia

This is a romance book full suspense. The woman in the book doesn’t know anything from her past, only that her past wants to have her death. She does know how to rescue herself and starts searching for who she is. Years later she is working for the police under a new name and comes in the path of Jake. After a wild night together she discovers he is a criminal. When her past comes to haunt her he helps her. It sounds easy as it is written here, but the book is full suspense and I wanted to know how it ended. And although Jake is a criminal I got a big weak spot for him.
