At Deacon’s place, he tells Hope he knows she’s struggling to understand what she’s seeing. He and Finn explain that Sheila is still here with them… she never left. Finn, with his arm around Sheila, states, “It’s amazing. A miracle.”

At Forrester, Steffy and Carter discuss a deal with Bill. Carter explains he’s set a meeting with Liam, who soon comes through the door. Steffy tells her ex she has questions. Liam has one for her first, “Did Finn ever call you back?” They do some more work before Liam asks again. Steffy explains to Carter that Liam’s concerned because she’s been upset with Deacon filling Finn’s head with Sheila conspiracy theories. She’s sure Hope will shut her father down. She cannot hear Deacon go on and on about Sheila’s toes anymore.

Liam muses that Hope has clout with Deacon, who listens to his daughter. If she’s with him right now there’s a good chance this could all be over soon. Steffy would have preferred Hope to have shut it down as soon as it happened. Carter assures that they’ll all keep trying as Liam sums up that Deacon is hurting people with these conspiracy theories, especially Steffy. Carter exits and Liam asks his ex if she wants to vent or scream. Steffy says Sheila’s dead… why can’t they just forget about her?!

At Deacon’s place, Hope pieces together that Steffy killed someone that night, but it wasn’t Sheila. She eyeballs Sheila for tricking this woman into getting plastic surgery. Sheila says it was a desperate time. She won’t try to justify it, but insists Sugar was a tortured woman before that. Finn touches on Sheila wanting to save Steffy and the kids from her. Deacon tells Hope that Sheila’s a changed woman worthy of him and Finn. It would be great if she could start to accept that. Finn says, “He’s right, Hope.”

They sit, and Finn holds Sheila’s hand as he tells her she’s doing the work and has proven herself to him. Sheila complains she’s failed her entire life and no one has given her a chance until now. She finally has what she’s been searching for her entire life. Hope can see how relieved and happy Deacon and Finn are, but she still has concerns. She tells Deacon she’s proud of him and Finn for rescuing Sheila, who was a victim. “But are we really so convinced that she’s not the same woman capable of murder?” Deacon insists she tried to save Steffy and the kids. Finn backs him up. Deacon declares that Sheila is a changed woman. Sheila’s sure Hope will believe it one day… for now, she’s just grateful Deacon and Finn believe it. She asks Deacon if he’ll get some fresh air with her. After being chained up in the warehouse she wants fresh air. Deacon agrees. Sheila tells Hope that Finn and Deacon are right about her. She thanks her son for believing in her and they embrace.

After Sheila and Deacon exit, Hope wipes away tears and asks Finn, “How?! How?!” Finn asks her to warn him if she’s going to faint again.

Outside Deacon’s apartment, Sheila goes on about missing daylight and breathing fresh air. Deacon says it’s beautiful to see her enjoying life’s simple pleasures. He sees that she’s reformed, Finn sees it, and everyone else will come around eventually. It never made sense to him that she went after Steffy. He should have known it wasn’t her and she never would have attacked her. Sheila tells him he has nothing to apologize for. “You’re my hero. You saved my life.” Deacon tells her that her missing digit saved her.

At Forrester, Steffy wants to forget about Sheila’s existence. She recaps defending herself that night and rants about Deacon saying idiotic things. Liam knows Sheila is still hanging over her and Deacon’s over-active imagination isn’t helping, but it’s a process. “There is no Sheila anymore. She’s gone. She’s gone for good.” Steffy thanks Liam for understanding. Now that Sheila’s dead, she’s realized she can finally breathe again. “Finn and I are finally free of her.”

Outside his apartment, Deacon tells Sheila she’s his wild little hurricane causing all kinds of trouble and he wouldn’t have it any other way. He loves cleaning up after her and wants to do it for the rest of his life. Getting down on one knee. Deacon kisses Sheila’s foot with the missing toe. He doesn’t give a damn what anyone thinks. “Marry me, Sheila.”

In Deacon’s apartment, Hope says if she actually fainted after seeing Sheila, she can only imagine what’s going on with Finn. He confirms it was hard to let himself believe she could be alive. Hope says, “Until you saw her for yourself.” Finn realizes this really complicates things. Hope laughs, “Yeah.” She is happy for him and won’t judge him for this. “If you ever need someone to talk to, a safe place to share your feelings…” Finn thanks her. He feels a sense of relief and joy. He thought she died trying to hurt his wife, but Sheila didn’t do that. Now he has this new opportunity. “The woman who gave birth to me, she’s alive!”

More: Finn’s set for a shock that will ruin his life

Finn tells Hope that what he can’t get over, aside from Steffy not killing Sheila, is that what his mother did was heroic. She offered her own life to save them. He hasn’t forgotten about the past but people do change; they can reform. Hope would love to agree with him, but she’s still struggling with some issues here and other people probably will for some time. Finn insists Sheila’s changed. Finn feels there is hope and there must be a way to have her in his life. For his sake, Hope hopes that someday Steffy will see his side of things. Finn knows it will be a major mind shift for Steffy to see Sheila in a new life, but if she sees the concern Sheila had for her safety… she’ll be relieved she didn’t kill his birth mother. “She’ll come around. She believes in Thomas.” Finn doesn’t want to waste this opportunity. He thanks Hope for listening and understanding. “I need that more than ever.” They embrace.
