Audience Member Disturbing and harsh. Incredibly well acted. A movie that makes you think about it after you are done watching, without gimmicks, computer imagery, overwhelming music, and other stunts. Uncomfortable at times and confusing, but well worth the watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I got to see this movie free on streaming video and it was really a kind of well done movie..i was never not kind of not left guessing.I liked this movie a lot and it broke one movie rule which i found very interesting. On the farm of the female cousin there is a kind of cabin and a shotgun is clearly on the wall. There is kind of a unwritten rule that if you see a gun in a movie you have to use the gun and that didn't happen. Waiting for the shotgun to reappear was a real cliff hanger for me..good movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Raw human emotion. Yeah the subject matter is hard to watch but the acting is subtle and superb. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Strong leads, backed with a strong storyline. One of the best dramas of 2016 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie with a twist. A drama about love, family, and societal norms. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Movie wasn't bad, little strange. I would not recommend watching this with siblings or family, may be a bit awkward. Leah Pickett Chicago Reader Writer-director Justin Lerner and cowriter Katharine O'Brien use silence as much as careful dialogue to spin a hypnotic narrative from difficult subject matter. Mar 17, 2016 Full Review Moira MacDonald Seattle Times Australian actress Adelaide Clemens shines in Justin Lerner's nicely paced indie drama/thriller. Rated: 3/4 Mar 11, 2016 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times A compelling bit of family drama that packs a corrosive punch. Mar 10, 2016 Full Review Melissa Weller Paste Magazine This bizarre take on star-crossed lovers is savvy enough to keep audiences invested in more than a train-wreck capacity. And yet, its risky premise never really offers any reward. Rated: 5.8/10 Mar 15, 2016 Full Review William Bibbiani CraveOnline There's very little to even be passionate about in this film that was, ostensibly, all about passion. Rated: 5.5/10 Mar 11, 2016 Full Review Elias Savada Film International The Automate Hate examines with brilliant resonance a decades-long unease within a family.... It's quite the family feud.
