Peter C No doubt an overall bad movie, formulaic, and wallowing in stereotypes, but there are probably worse ways to waste some time… I thought they tried hard to pull off making this into something watchable. But really, it was DOA starting with the script. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/19/23 Full Review Teresa D Predatory behaviour depicted not acceptable in a romantic comedy Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/23/23 Full Review Eric R Just so uninteresting and unrealistic. Definitely the bottom of the romcom barrel for me. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/27/23 Full Review Audience Member So Cringe. If the bad dialogue wasn't enough to make this rotten, the story line of a complete a**h*le destroying a woman's life, all for her to fall in love with him. Is the lesson, ruin lives and all your dreams come true? Well it was in this film. Hard Pass, waste of 90 minutes! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review antonis k A sweet, charming and funny romantic comedy with good perfomances by Uma Thurman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Colin Firth, that despite it's cliches? succeeds on it's simple premise. (8/10) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I love this movie. Not really sure why I do, but it is comfort in a bottle. Amy Nicholson I.E. Weekly There's little fun in being asked to identify with yet another female character who spends her running time being shamed like a dog who soiled the rug. May 5, 2010 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard Words almost fail me after watching this terrible romantic comedy from Griffin Dunne which is perilously described as a "sort of Carole Lombard screwball comedy". Would that it were. Rated: 1/5 Feb 29, 2008 Full Review Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) A plot of insufferable silliness contrives to keep the lovers on tenterhooks and the audience in a permanent cringe, none of it helped by Thurman's thoroughly phony performance. Rated: 1/5 Feb 29, 2008 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation It lives on as an artifact of a big screen career that might have been, or might have been extended, a director who talks a better game than he directs and a distributing studio/vanity project that never was and never have been. Rated: 1.5/4 Mar 3, 2022 Full Review S. Jhoanna Robledo Common Sense Media Sweet, teen-friendly rom-com borders on the cliched. Rated: 3/5 Sep 2, 2010 Full Review David Cornelius DVDTalk.com Sub-lousy hackneyed crapola all the way, a complete disaster, one of the year's worst movies.
