Wakapolda Gathering of Maluku Hindus, Temple to be Built

Ambon, Tual News- Maluku Regional Police Deputy Chief, Brigadier General Stephen M. Napiun, carried out a friendly visit with Hindus in Ambon City, Sunday (28/5/2023).

The number two person from the Maluku Regional Police also visited the construction of the Pattimura University Temple, Sura Yudha Mandala Denkav 5/BLC Temple, and Shiva Stana Giri Temple.

During his visit, Brigadier General Napiun was accompanied by the Chairman of the Maluku Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI), I Wayan Sutapa, Head of Human Resources for the Maluku Regional Police, Kombes Pol Bonni JS Sirait, Director of Intelligence, Kombes Pol. I Gede Arsana, Kapolresta Ambon Kombes Pol Raja Arthur Lumongga Simamora, and a number of other Hindu figures.

“Our visit today aims to establish friendship with Hindus, Maluku Province, especially in Ambon City,” explained Brigadier General Napiun.

Apart from the hospitality, during this visit the Deputy Chief of Police also heard suggestions, input and opinions regarding the plan to build a temple at the Maluku Regional Police Headquarters.

“First of all we would like to thank you for the visit of the Deputy Chief of Regional Police of Maluku to the Siwa Stana Giri Temple,” said Ida Bawati, Pembimas Hindu.

Ida Bawati gave her high appreciation for the plan to build a temple at the Maluku Police Headquarters.

“We support the plan to build a temple at the Maluku Police Headquarters,” he said.

In line with Ida Bawati, one of the Hindu leaders, Nugroho hopes that by building a temple at the Maluku Police Headquarters, it can increase the piety of members, especially Hindus.

“We suggest that in the process of building a temple at the Maluku Police Headquarters, there are absolute things that cannot be omitted, for the sake of building the temple itself,” he hoped.

Regarding the support of the Hindu religious leaders, the Deputy Chief of Regional Police of Maluku expressed his gratitude and appreciation.

“We will report to the Maluku Regional Police Chief regarding what your suggestions and opinions are, gentlemen,” he said.

Regarding the plan to build the temple, the Deputy Chief of Police said he would involve all parties in the committee.

“We are very enthusiastic about building a temple at the Maluku Police Headquarters as a form of religious tolerance in Maluku Province which is a laboratory for tolerance of Indonesian religious communities,” he hoped.
