Taylor Lautner's wife Tay reveals they are 'a little nervous' to have kids in the future - two years after tying the knot: 'It scares me'

Taylor Lautner's wife, Taylor 'Tay' Dome, revealed that the pair are nervous about expanding their family. 

The Twilight hunk, 32, and the registered nurse, 27, tied the knot in November 2022, but Tay revealed the idea of raising kids 'scares' her.

'Sometimes we get a little nervous. How do we raise kids [who] are going to be able to speak up for themselves or feel like they can talk to us about this? It scares me,' she told Us Weekly on Saturday. 

Though the duo are not in a hurry to welcome kids, they are planning on it sometime in the future. 'Definitely [at] some time at some point, there will be [kids],' Tay shared.

Elsewhere in the interview she gushed about being married to the actor — who once dated singer Taylor Swift — and called him 'my golden retriever.'

'It's the best. I'm so thankful. He's a gem. He's my golden retriever — that's what I call him. He's just joy on Earth.' 

Tay further shared her thoughts on raising kids as she spoke about Dr. Daniel Amen, who recently joined the pair on their 'The Squeeze' podcast.

'How do you raise a child now? I'm very thankful for people like Dr. Amen and a lot of my friends have kids or are just having kids. Getting to watch them walk through it and having the support from people like Dr. Amen to help facilitate independence or whatever it may be is great.'

The duo discussed raising 'mentally strong children' with Amen. 

The pair are both mental health advocates, which is why they started their Lemons Foundation nonprofit.

'We've been together for seven years now, so it's been really cool because we kind of got to go on our mental health journeys together.' 

Tay shared that since the pair said 'I do' she has enjoyed seeing her husband share his mental health struggles and 'strive to better himself.' 

'It's really encouraging to me and makes me want to do better, too, which is awesome. To have a partner that respects it as much and is on the same mission for life is great.'

She also praised his 'great communication' skills.

'When we do have a disagreement, we're able to communicate. Like, I can't process things right away, whereas Taylor knows what he wants so he's able to be like, "OK, let’s come back to this in a little bit. I know you don’t know what's going on so we can come back to it."'

Last year he once again discussed his fleeting 2009 romance with Swift - who's now dating NFL player Travis Kelce — and revealed she was the one who dumped him.

Though he has maintained a famously close friendship with his superstar ex, 34, he told the Call Her Daddy podcast Swift was 'absolutely' the instigator of their split after five months.

He said: 'I’m thinking back on exactly what happened. But no, yeah, she did.'

'I think when you respect somebody for who they are, like in their soul, it allows you to move on, forgive and continue that love in a different way.

'We stayed friendly, we would see each other now and then. But we then did fall out of touch and didn’t talk for a while. But I’ve always had the deepest respect for who she is as a person before anything else.'

Lautner also spoke about the former couple reuniting for his appearance in her I Can See You video, saying: 'Honestly I would say one of the greater things to happen in my life over the last year is the rekindling of our friendship.

'Above anything else that she is, she is just a wonderful human. And she’s pretty great to have in your life.'

In October Lautner showed of his wild moves at an Eras Tour film screening with his wife, despite his former girlfriend penning a heartbreak song about him. 

Lautner was shown in a theater full of other fans watching and singing along to every song.
