Roma could extend Tammy Abraham’s contract to lower annual costs

Roma are pondering the future of Tammy Abraham who is set for a return to the pitch after a nine-month absence as a result of his ACL tear in June of 2023.

With Abraham ready to get back on the pitch and expected to feature in Roma’s starting line-up within the coming weeks, the capital club are making important considerations regarding the striker’s contractual situation.

Abraham’s contract expires in 2026 and if Roma were to have reassurances on his conditions at the end of the season, the club could choose to lift some of the weight off their wage bill and spread the costs of his salary over additional years.

Today Abraham accounts for over €14 million per year between amortization and gross salary, an extension of the contract would allow the club (as happened for Mancini, Cristante and Kumbulla just to name a few) to lower management costs, making its business more sustainable, reports ReteSport.
