Royal Gala: Symphony for the Spire

Synopsis
Television programme. A charity concert devised by Prince Charles in support of the Salisbury Cathedral spire appeal. Placido Domingo, Jessye Norman, Ofra Harnoy, Charlton Heston and Phil Collins give performances. Kenneth Branagh reads from Henry V. He speaks the opening Chorus, ‘Once more unto the breach’ (III i) and the St Crispins’s Day speech (IV iii). The English Chamber Orchestra play Patrick Doyle’s score to Branagh’s HENRY V feature film. Branagh then reads IV vii, finishing with Henry’s final words in IV viii, after which ‘Non Nobis Domine’ from Doyle’s score.
