Part 3 is going to have you crying or your chest hurting. Little Cole goes through hell from the day he's born. And his mama too because at first she's doing it on her own. And dad has his own problems. Not to mention some really weird crap mom goes through. But dad's is from the military. This is fast pasted, sweet and dramatic. There are some sassy,sweet times but this is not smut. It's love. ;-)

threatens them, can he protect the people important to him?
Adults 18+ only for steamy scenes. Must read.

I had a few moments of confusion. I was listening to the audiobook and didn't realize I also had the book, thankfully. So I was able to switch over and search the book.

I didn't understand why it took Ben so long to find out he had a son after he was released from the military. He was back in town. Jack was his best friend. How did Olivia not know he had sustained injuries?

Then, the whole situation with her bio mom made no sense. I won't go into detail because I would have to do spoiler alerts. The situation, the explanation, the timeline were confusing.

The audiobook narration did nothing for me. The female narrator was ok. The male narrator's delivery was so bland that it was distracting. My mind wandered and I had to rewind. Luckily I had the book to switch to, but even reading that made me feel like I was missing something.

Bottom line for me is that I don't enjoy having to search a book to fact check, confirm that there was or was not missing information, or to cleat up confusion. That is not an enjoyable read for me. I understand each book is fictional. I don't expect things to be perfect. I do expect to be able to understand what is happening and why without doing research.

This book didn't do it for me. I would give it 2.5 stars.

Finally! A book that has a great storyline , builds and keeps you in suspense for most of the time while allowing the romance to build, with varied and unique stories and events. While some of the themes were glossed over, like PTSD, there is only so much that can be covered in one story.

Olivia can't believe that Ben is there in front of her. Will Olivia tell Ben he's a father? Will Ben tell Olivia what he feels for her? Will Olivia be killed and her son kidnapped? Great story.

Olivia and Ben have been skirting around their attraction for a while. With Ben due out on deployment they finally give in.
Olivia ends up with a big surprise and tries to contact Ben to try and talk to him. With no contact we soon realise why Ben hasn’t checked messages.
With Olivia’s new baby having a serious medical condition a break in at her house puts her on edge.
In steps Ben, fresh back from deployment and closed off to anything but Olivia and the baby’s safety. Soon it becomes apparent that it wasn’t an isolated incident.

This was an extremely emotional book. Bens experiences in the military and everything it’s done to his psyche was so sad.
Everything Olivia went through with cole was heartbreaking and I was glad to see positive outcomes with him.
I had no clue who the bad guy was and i was extremely surprised. It was well done.

I absolutely hate giving up on a book vut this one has me beat. At first I found it hard to lose myself in the story, then as each chapter goes by the author throws in another type of drama. Ignored by baby daddy, single Mom, child with heart condition, broken into, shot at, blames herself for baby daddy ignoring her, kid gets kidnapped, dumped again then has a gun put to her head. It just become too ridiculous.
