Lo scorso ottobre ho trascorso 2 settimane al Sunset Park ed è stato un ottimo soggiorno. Abbastanza tranquillo quartiere con molta diversità nella cultura e nelle opzioni alimentari. E quando vai più a sud del parco nelle strade degli anni '50, vedrai alcuni edifici di Brooklyn vintage della vecchia scuola che hanno mantenuto il loro carattere. Mi sento come se fossi tornato indietro nel tempo quando sono andato laggiù! Inoltre, vai a dare un'occhiata a Industry City. . .

Da questa posizione è possibile vedere la zona del Sunset Park di Brooklyn. Una bella vista sul porto di New York in lontananza e anche sui porti NJ. Buono per camminare e attività di parco giochi per grandi e piccini. Ha una piscina all'aperto centrale gestita in città con armadietti in estate. Il parcheggio è il lato della strada marciapiede nel quartiere locale.

Sonnenuntergang mit Aussicht auf Manhatten-Skyeline

Schöner Ort um den Sonnenuntergang auf einer Parkbank mit Aussicht auf die Skyline von Manhatten zu geniessen.
Im Park hatten wir öfter (ältere) chinesische Gruppen bei Tai Chi oder Tanz erlebt. Es gibt auch viele Jugendliche, die Sport machen oder Familien.

Great Park and Neighborhood

This past October I spent 2 weeks in Sunset Park and it was a great stay. Pretty chill neighborhood with lots of diversity in culture and food options. And when you go further south of the park in the 50s streets, you will see some straight vintage old school Brooklyn buildings that have retained their character. I feel like I went back in time when I went down there! Also, go check out Industry City...

Sunset Park Central Park

From this location you can see the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn.

A good view of NY Harbor in the distance and also the NJ Seaports.

Good for walking, and playground activities for young and old.

Has a City Run Central Outdoor Pool with Lockers in the summer.

Parking is curb street side in the local neighborhood.

Great park, near restaurants and delis, grab a sandwich and enjoy the large park with a great views.

Interesting Neighborhood
set 2019
This place has emerged as one of Brooklyn's interesting neighborhoods. It's still a bit out there away from Manhattan, and still off the beaten path, but it has definitely been discovered. Very diverse and interesting, food and beverage.

一人でものんびり楽しめる公園

ブルックリンの45street station(N,R Line)から歩いて行ける距離にあるローカル人の多い公園です。昼間は治安の問題なくゆっくり寝そべったり、読書などでマイペースでゆったり出来るのです。ここからはマンハッタンの景色が綺麗です。リバティも見えます。観光気分よりニューヨーカーを味わうのには楽しいです。周辺はスパニッシュ系、中華系のストリートです。本場の味に近いメキシカンフードや中華もあるので、サンセットパークでお散歩の後楽しめるのです。夜は柄が少し悪いので明るいうちに行きましょう。

Best view at Sunset

Sunset Park in Brooklyn is on walking distance from the apartment of my son, where we stayed during vacation. We went to the park on Friday evening with dinner packed with us. Park is fully filled with people enjoying because of weekend. Most of visitors are Chinese because it is near to China Town of Brooklyn. People are enjoying music and group dance in open area. View of Sunset is really excellent. At seaside Manhattan, New Jersey view is also visible.

Great Neighborhood to get a sense of industrial Brooklyn and New York

Sunset Park in Brooklyn has a special flavor and range of activities and sights.

The industrial areas in the 30’s and 40’s off of Third and Fourth Avenues are dramatic to look at. Its transition is akin to what happened in Dumbo, Soho and Chelsea Market, industrial to residential and commercial. There are still small factories and auto repair places. The Nets have a training facility that is supposed to be amazing. I have meet people from Manhattan who come to a Saturday flea market (241 37th St.) in the area.

A major section of Bush Terminal has been transformed into Industry City (32nd to 37th Street along Third Avenue) with all sorts of interesting events and work spaces. One restaurant Avocaderia only serves avocado dishes.

Bush Terminal Park (Marginal Street between 44th and 50th Streets) has a landscaping sensibility similar to the High Line with windblown tumbleweed. It is a stunning park and a delight to see. The entrance has buildings from the industrial era.

The newest Chinatown in New York is along 8th Avenue in the fifties. The sea of green and exotic vegetables at the huge grocery stores makes great photographs. We bought some greens and cooked them. When you buy fish in these stores, they are swimming! You point out the fish you want. It is knocked out with some device, (a hammer?) , and you take it home!

The actual park of Sunset Park (between 41st and 44th Street, Fifth and Seventh Avenues) is I believe the highest point in Brooklyn. It has a lovely view of the Statue of Liberty, New York Bay and of Manhattan.

And those of a certain age would appreciate a shot of the Jackie Gleason Bus Depot!

OH THE HUMANITY

Where else can you watch South American style Volleyball while eating tamales? Where else can you watch and join in with 75 older Chinese woman dancing to music while you drink your giant fresh Watermelon juice? Where else can you see the best view in town from over 300 feet high above NY harbor. Where else can you swim for free in the summer in the best public pool around or sled down the best hill around in the winter (Thank you NYC Parks dept for putting up soft barricades so we don't fly into 5th ave.) SO hop a bit off the usual NYC tour route and come on over to Sunset Park! It really does prove that we all can get along.

A great evening !

This place draws most of us for its sheer beauty of the view point . The great experience of the day in a relaxing place after the the whole day of touristy things . Being here is uplifting and joyful . This Park is a place for lovely picnic for the families . No entree fee .
