Summer Solstice plot

The recently established business empire of Sam (Jason Durr) and Carrie (Lara-Joy Körner) in the Scottish Highlands finds itself in dire straits when their exclusive Rhives Castle Hotel doesn't attract enough guests and their newspaper the Langmore & Highland Gazette finds a potentially defamatory piece has published on author Alexia White (Jacqueline Bisset). On top of that, Carrie also has some surprising news for Sam. Meanwhile, Elfrida (Sinéad Cusack) is offered a role in a soap, but this means that she has been separated from her beloved Oscar (Jan Niklas) for longer. Lucinda (Honor Blackman), the former owner of the Rhives Castle Hotel, is enjoying her new, quiet life.
