Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan has already made a significant impact on the ongoing Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) China 2023 Tour 3: Division I. Joining Team Aster after his standout performance as a stand-in during the Berlin Major 2023, SumaiL has quickly become a force to be reckoned with. In the latest Division I match, Team Aster faced off against Piggy Killers and emerged victorious in an impressive series win. SumaiL's exceptional gameplay played a pivotal role in the team's success, showcasing his undeniable skills and adaptability on the battlefield. Following this, in a post-match interview, SumaiL shed light on his thoughts and experiences since joining Team Aster.

SumaiL on playing in China DPC and joining Team Aster

During the post-match interview, SumaiL expressed his enthusiasm for participating in the DPC China and the opportunity to play on stage once again. The current DPC season in China features a LAN tournament with an audience in attendance, adding to the excitement and energy of the matches.

“It's always more fun to play on stage. We have a crowd, too, around 100 people or something. So it's actually nice to get to play in front of the audience right off the bat. It's way better than playing in a room, for sure,” SumaiL said.

Additionally, SumaiL also spoke about how there was a chance that he might have joined the team before The International 10 and his good chemistry with the team and its players, which is what fueled his transfer.

“During COVID-19, before TI10, there were propositions to potentially join them, but I stood in for Liquid, and then OG popped up, so it didn't happen back then. But there was this talk two years ago. And then, standing in at the Major, we kinda clicked, actually. I didn't expect it. I mean, obviously, I expected it not to be awful. People overestimate this language stuff. And the chemistry was insanely good. We just decided, why not continue?” he added.

Drafting with SumaiL and good vibes with Boboka

In another section of the interview, the superstar midlaner also speaks about the drafting process in the team after he joined and stated that his communication is often minimal in the drafting phase.

“Usually, Mad (assistant coach for Team Aster) does drafting. I don't know if he talks with the team, but as far as I can tell, he does it on his own. I suggest my heroes most of the items and bans if I see a really good one. Also, when I see a hero perfect for my team. Otherwise, I stay quiet and let them do their stuff, which I think is pretty good, to be honest,” he said.

SumaiL also spoke a little bit about the comedic relationship that he has with Boboka in the team, highlighting the good chemistry between the two players.

“Yeah, I just talk to him. I don't even know if he understands me but it's a good relationship. He always laughs at everything, if I'm praising or flaming him, it doesn't matter, it's good chemistry,” he added.

The highly anticipated rematch against Somnus

In one part of the interview, SumaiL was asked who he is most excited to go up against in China’s DPC thisa season, to which he replies Somnus from Azure Ray. The two have a long-standing rivalry in Dota 2, where both players were hailed as some of the most mechanically gifted midlaners in the world.

“It has to be Maybe (referring to Somnus). We have a long history. I think we are playing each other for nine years now. And laning stage is always fun against him because he never really fell off his laning,” Sumail said.

SumaiL's debut in the DPC China 2023 Tour 3: Division I has set the stage for an exhilarating journey ahead. As Team Aster's newest addition, his exceptional gameplay and chemistry with the team have already proven to be a winning combination. Fans around the world eagerly anticipate witnessing his performances in this highly competitive tournament, where he will face formidable opponents and continue to showcase his incredible skills.
