About this group

Stockbridge School in Interlaken, MA was founded by Hans and Ruth Maeder in 1948: <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Maeder>.
Small but intense it was filled with musicians, artists, actors and politically active students. Dr. Kenneth Edelin. President of Planned Parenthood, Chevy Chase, Arlo Guthrie, Christopher Guest, Benjamin Barber, Marc Steiner and other notables were classmates or graduated from Stockbridge School.
Stockbridge also had a sister school in Corcelles, Switzerland partnered by Ålbert Schweitzer College, The school flew the United Nations flag just below the United States flag beginning in 1948, three years after the United Nations came into existence. The credo of the school was finally stated with the opening of the new classroom building in the middle 50s, "All Men are created equal in dignity and rights", placed at the entrance for all to see.
