A former child star who featured alongside Nicole Kidman in Baz Lurhmann's blockbuster, Australia, has admitted to threatening his ex-girlfriend and breaking into her home.

Brandon Laurie Walters, 24, last week pleaded guilty to breaking into the woman's home in Cable Beach in Broome, Western Australia and threatening to harm her.

The incident on September 3 came just two weeks after Walters was fined $1,650 for using a rock to smash the window of her Holden Astra.

After Walters threatened his former partner, meaning he had violated a violence restraining order, he was taken to Broome Police Station where he was found with 0.1g of methamphetamine.

Walters had played the Aboriginal boy Nullah in the 2008 film when he was just 12 years old, starring alongside Hugh Jackman and Oscar-winner Ms Kidman.

It's believed a child was at the Cable Beach home when Walters threatened the woman, the West Australian reported.

The Broome Magistrate's Court heard that when the 24-year-old smashed the car window, he had been told not to come to the home via text messages from his ex.

He then hurled a rock through the rear passenger window of the woman's car.

Two weeks later Walters was then pulled over by police where he blew a 0.114 blood alcohol reading.

He will face court again on December 22 while the remainder of his charges were adjourned for February 8.

He had been hand picked to star in Lurhmann's film from 1,000 other young Australian hopefuls.

Australia grossed close to $300million in the box office.
