St George’s is a coeducational school for some 400 boys and girls aged between 3 and 13. We occupy a beautiful site just below the castle walls, bordering Home Park Private, where our extensive playing fields are situated.
The school buildings, dating from 1802 right up to the purpose-built Pre-Prep Department in 1996, are spacious and well-equipped, and we recently converted a large and attractive Georgian house nearby to accommodate our Middle School and Music Department.
Our school is divided in to three distinct and separate sections: the Pre-Prep, aged 3 to 7, the Middle School, aged 8 to 10 and the Senior School, aged 11 to 13.
We have 40 children in each year group split in to two parallel classes. Through well-targeted and inspiring teaching, and high levels of pastoral care, our pupils are able to grow physically, academically, socially, culturally and spiritually. We are a caring, Christian community, where every individual matters and has a significant contribution to make. Our pupils leave us at 13, ready for the transfer to senior schools, as well-rounded, articulate, courteous and considerate young people.
