Teddies at a Glance

Underlying everything at Teddies is our mission to prepare our pupils for the rest of their lives by encouraging their passions and talents, enabling them to discover new ones and supporting them to achieve their own potential. Our community fizzes with diverse interests and enthusiasms, while our academic excellence means 90% of our top pupils gain the highest grades in their Sixth Form exams and take up places at the world’s best universities – a record which exceeds the outcomes of many highly selective schools. We are one of a few schools to offer both IB and A Level alongside each other at Sixth Form, and in our Middle School programme we have introduced optional new courses to stretch our candidates at GCSE level, responding directly to the very latest research into how young people learn.

Co-educational and Inclusive

Teddies is a fully co-educational boarding and day school, with a wide range of pupils from around the country and 16% joining us from 40 different countries outside the UK. The co-educational experience and inclusive ethos of the school prepares pupils for life beyond the school gates and brings pupils, parents, governors, staff, and the local community together.

We offer a wide range of scholarships and bursaries.

Facilities and Location

Teddies occupies 100 glorious acres in the north of Oxford. The original Victorian quad has recently been added to with the Christie Centre, a suite of modern and flexible classroom and study spaces topped with the collegiate-style Roe Reading Room, and the 1,000 seater Olivier Hall. One of the few boarding schools in the UK to be lucky enough to be part of a vibrant university city, the school makes the most of its location – pupils have access to lectures from world-class academics and opportunities to explore the city’s colleges, museums and theatres.

  • What people think:

Pupils want to come here; staff want to teach here, and they are certainly rattling the cages of the academic elite.
Talk Education
There's a sense of belonging. Everyone is treated equally. It doesn't matter whether you are sporty, arty or academic, we are all the same and there are opportunities for everyone.
Fourth Form Pupil
We chose Teddies because it is co-educational and has a wonderful reputation for happiness.
Current parents
We are impressed with the ethos of the school and the general environment. The children seem to come from a variety of backgrounds and the school supports each child (not just the academics) to fulfil their potential.
Current parents
There is a tangible sense of enjoyment and satisfaction.
