Our Lady Peace – Spiritual Machines

Still such an underrated album. Pressing sounds fantastic as well!

Spiritual Machines is a concept album based on the writings of Ray Kurzweil, and shares an obvious influence from OK Computer. The band discovered the book while on tour for their previous record and wrote the songs while on tour, almost immediately going into the studio to record after the tour ended. This album was the last with original guitarist Mike Turner (and subsequent albums would be worse for that departure). The album itself features more effects than the band previously used, as well as the fitting use of the Kurzweil K250 keyboard. The album features songs with a harder edge, and is similar in feel to Naveed than to Happiness. This vinyl does a good job of capturing the band, with a solid mix and well balanced spread. Dynamics could be a little better, and that is likely due to the fact that record is overcrowded on both sides. Still, it is hard to find much wrong with the pressing, and for fans of the band, it is a must own. The blue vinyl is very cool and goes well with the art and the concept of the album.

Album looks great like this, but I sure wish they stuck with a translucent like they did the previous 3 Lanni albums.

Very beautiful release! Very impressed included 15.2, vinyl will, in my experience, exclude extras; a fav part of album. Beautiful slips, art & oversized booklet. Favourite album by them as well

Anyone know where I can find this on vinyl? I'm also looking for Gravity on vinyl. I guess they just came out last month? Zero info on these 2 releases, yet there out there!
